Class Ideas

This is a continuation of the series on Teaching a Bible Journaling Group or Class. You can view Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE.

Pictures of work on social media

When someone shares a picture of their artwork on social media, it is still their artwork. If you want to replicate it for your personal use, credit the artist. I add a note to my page with the artist name and source (Instagram or Facebook handle). If I share on social media, I tag them in the photo AND give them credit in my description.

If I want to teach a class with the page, I contact the artist and get permission first. If I can’t find the artist (This is common with Pinterest.), I will not use the artwork. After gaining permission, in my class, I let me students know the artist behind the original artwork.

I’ve heard many times, “Oh, I saw it somewhere, but I don’t remember where.” When you are scanning Pinterest or other social media outlets and find something that stands out. Use the tools that program offers to save the image. On Pinterest, you can pin an image and I would encourage you to create a special board(s) to find these images again easily. On Facebook and Instagram, you have the ability to save a post to review later.

Let’s be sure to honor the artist and give them credit.

Printables

When you download a printable, look to see if there are conditions attached. If it says you can print and share, then you are free to do so. If, however, you see language like this:

It is illegal to reproduce or share copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright owner. This license is non-transferable.

(Excerpt from Illustrated Faith’s TOU – Terms of Use)

You do not have permission to print and distribute by any method (print or electronic), unless obtained by the owner of the content.

Paid Classes

Are those all the teachings you have done, Tonya? No. I teach paid classes as well. But out of respect for the students who have paid to receive that content, I do not give it away.

Feel free to tag @messybible on Instagram and Facebook and use #messybible so I can see your recreations and classes.

Blessings,

Tonya
